The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released an auto loan shopping toolkit as a part of its Know Before You Owe consumer financial education initiative. In a letter dated April 28, 2016, to the mortgage, banking and real estate industries, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray stated that there are parts of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule where adjustments can be made for “greater certainty and clarity.” Dodd Frank Update ’s Library has the letter for you to read for yourself.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has released a prototype of its Payback Playbook, a set of disclosures that are meant to improve communications between student loan servicers and borrowers and to help borrowers select a repayment plan that best suits their circumstances. The Department of Education is planning to implement this disclosure later this year after the CFPB receives feedback. Dodd Frank Update has the prototype in its Library for you to review.

In response to a letter sent by the American Bankers Association in October 2013, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued a no-action letter granting enforcement relief for certain banking holding companies and savings and loan holding companies from its swap clearing requirements.
