The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced on June 12 that Owen Lee, CEO at Success Mortgage Partners (SMP), has been nominated to serve as MBA’s vice chairman for the 2025 membership year.
“It is my honor to welcome Owen Lee, an exemplary leader and prominent voice in the real estate finance industry, to MBA’s leadership ladder,” 2024 MBA Chairman and Union Home Mortgage President Mark Jones said. “For years, Owen has been one of MBA’s most active members, and I am confident his innate ability to influence, endless energy and relentless passion in pushing for positive change will lead to successful outcomes for homeowners, renters and our membership.”
In October, Lee will be installed as vice chairman at MBA’s 111th annual convention in Denver. Per MBA’s bylaws, after serving a year as vice chairman, Lee is expected to be chairman-elect in the 2026 membership year, before ascending to be the Association’s chairman in 2027.
Lee co-founded SMP in Plymouth, Mich., in 2002 and serves as CEO. Lee is also managing member of Title Partners, LLC, a full-service title insurance and escrow services agency. Lee serves on MBA’s board of directors, is co-chair of its Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council, and is currently the 2023-2024 chairman of MORPAC, MBA’s political action committee. Lee is also a member of the board of directors of The Mortgage Collaborative’s technology fund and is on the board of directors of TrAIned.
