OCC to alter big bank supervisory process

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said it will make significant changes to the process it uses to supervise large institutions. The changes — which include drawing down the number of on-site examiners at individual banks — respond to recommendations from an international peer review of the OCC’s supervision of large banks and thrifts.
