CFPB releases early HMDA rulemaking outline

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau plans to convene a small business review panel to provide feedback on an initial set of proposals the agency is considering as it works to implement Dodd-Frank provisions that expand the current Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data set. The proposals under consideration include some data fields that are not mentioned in Dodd-Frank. Additionally, hundreds of smaller depository lenders would no longer report HMDA data, the CFPB said.
